Refund & Cancellation Policy

The Starter plan is free forever — no card required. It includes preview lessons in all 9 modules and a working Royalty Command Center (3 songs, 1 split sheet with PDF export), so you can fully evaluate the platform, the teaching style, and the tools before ever paying.

We designed it this way on purpose: rather than asking you to pay and hope for a refund, we'd rather you know exactly what you're buying before you buy it.

Every paid subscription (Pro and Label & Teams, monthly or annual) can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period:

• No future charges — once you cancel, you will never be billed again
• You keep what you paid for — full plan access continues until the end of the period you already paid for
• Automatic downgrade — when the paid period ends, your account moves to Starter; nothing is deleted (data beyond free limits becomes read-only)
• No cancellation fees, no phone calls, no hoops

• Self-serve (instant): open your Dashboard → Wallet → "Cancel subscription", which takes you to our secure Stripe billing portal — confirm with the email on your subscription and cancel in two clicks
• By email: send "Cancel my subscription" to billing@thewritersshare.com from your account email — we process cancellations within 1 business day and confirm in writing

Because paid plans unlock the complete curriculum and all templates immediately, subscription payments are non-refundable once processed. This applies to first payments and renewals alike, on both monthly and annual plans. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not refund the current period.

We will always refund:

• Billing errors — duplicate charges, charges after a confirmed cancellation, or amounts that don't match your plan
• Anything the law requires — nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection law of your place of residence

To report a billing error, email billing@thewritersshare.com with your receipt — we respond within 2 business days and fix genuine errors immediately.

• Label & Teams seat additions and removals are prorated automatically by Stripe on your next invoice
• Upgrades (e.g. Pro → Label) take effect immediately with prorated billing; downgrades take effect at the end of the current period
• Switching between monthly and annual billing is handled in the billing portal and prorated by Stripe

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Genuine billing errors are fixed same-week without a dispute, and cancellation is instant and self-serve — so there is rarely anything to dispute. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first may result in account suspension while the dispute is investigated.
